Introduction

At the beginning of being given the brief for this project it has changed due to the nature of what I wanted to achieve.Initially i was hoping to follow a local rural community with different ways of living. Unfortunately this did not transpire like i wanted it too, it will be something for the future.

I decided on a slightly different direction and now this has expanded beyond stone circles and standing stones to encompass Neolithic sites within the United Kingdom and how they have evolved over time. I am using the neolithic period in history as a metaphor about how I have evolved a person.

We are learning so much about this particular period in history, it simply cannot be covered in just one project. Knowing as to the reasoning behind the Neotholic people used stone structures within their lives on a daily basis will need further investigation. 

My own understanding and meanings of stone structures are according to the structure itself. Stone circles; life, burial chambers; death and standing stones; individuals and rebirth.

If I choose to expand this project at a later stage my research may include the protection of these sites, activism and the environment.
